How to run QuizBrew from setup to hosting night.

Everything venue teams need to create quizzes, review packs, print sheets, host live, run bingo, enable online play, and manage billing without guesswork.

Running a quiz tonight

1

Open Quizzes

Create a new quiz night or open the one already queued for this week.

2

Check generation

Leave the detail page open while the pack builds. When ready, the review tools appear automatically.

3

Quick Review

Use edit, regenerate, or Fix Quiz if anything looks weak or incomplete before approval.

4

Print and host

Download the PDF sheets, then use Host Now to run the presenter screen and scoring.

Create your account and venue

Your first account creates a default pub automatically. Add more venues later in Settings if you run quizzes across multiple pubs.

  • The free trial currently includes one quiz generation.
  • Your default pub is used as the starting venue for new quiz nights.
  • Branding, logo, and venue details can be adjusted in Settings.
Tip: If you are testing before launch, use one real venue profile and one full end-to-end flow rather than creating lots of throwaway quizzes.

Set style, rounds, template, and online play

From Quizzes, create a one-off quiz or set up a repeating quiz night. QuizBrew then builds the quiz against your style and round settings.

Choose a quiz style

Use the quiz style dropdown to pick your format. Standard styles use normal rounds. Bingo Quiz is a dedicated mode with 25 questions and a bingo-style answer sheet.

Pick a template

Select the quiz sheet look you want for tables. Printer-friendly layouts are best when you expect heavy use in a pub environment.

Enable online play if needed

On the setup flow, use the step 3 Online Play dropdown if you want remote/mobile answering turned on for that quiz.

Picture rounds

Picture questions are capped to a single round with a maximum of 10 questions. Enable the add-on in Subscription if you want them included in weekly billing.

Automate a regular pub quiz schedule

The weekly board is for recurring quiz nights. It shows what is queued, generating, ready for review, live, or complete.

  • Each pub has a weekly quiz allowance based on its billing setup.
  • If you try to add more quiz nights than a pub is billed for, the app will prompt you to upgrade first.
  • You can pause or resume a weekly slot from the board.
  • If a week is unusable, use Skip This Week rather than leaving a broken occurrence hanging.

Check the quiz before teams see it

Once generation finishes, the quiz detail page becomes your review surface.

Edit a question

Use the pencil icon to correct wording, answers, or category labelling manually.

Regenerate one question

Use regenerate if the wording is weak, too similar, or not suitable for your pub. QuizBrew avoids obvious repeats for the same venue.

Fix Quiz

If multiple questions are broken, the Fix Quiz button repairs only the damaged items, using the question bank first and AI only when needed.

Approve when ready

Approve the pack only after the question list, answers, and sheet output all look right.

Download printable sheets that work on pub tables

QuizBrew generates print-ready PDFs for teams and a host copy. Answer-sheet style outputs use landscape where that improves table usability.

  • Use printer-friendly templates when tables are cramped or lighting is poor.
  • Bingo answer sheets are generated as a numbered 25-box grid.
  • Question-master outputs include answers and supporting host detail.
  • If a PDF looks tight, try a lighter sheet template before printing a full batch.
Tip: Download one copy first and check the header spacing, margins, and readability on your printer before printing the room.

Run the room from the host panel and presenter screen

The host panel controls question progress, answer reveal, marking, leaderboard visibility, and the presenter screen.

Presenter Screen

Use the presenter card to open the display view for the room. There is also a toggle to show or hide the leaderboard when you do not need it.

Round marking

At the end of a round, the marking pane first lists the questions only. Use Reveal All Answers when you are ready for teams to mark.

Scoring

Enter team marks from the host panel. Results and leaderboard updates are then reflected in the presenter view.

Past events

Completed quizzes remain available for review and results history.

Let players join on mobile

If online play is enabled for the quiz, players can join from the remote play page on their phones using the event code and team code.

  • The remote player view is phone-first and keeps the live question and answer box front and centre.
  • Players only need the event code, team code, and optionally a display name.
  • Use this for mixed in-room and remote events, or for bonus interaction rounds.

Run the 25-question bingo format correctly

Bingo quizzes are a dedicated format, not just a normal quiz with a different sheet.

  • Bingo quizzes are limited to 25 questions.
  • The host reads all 25 questions first.
  • After that, the host draws question numbers using the bingo draw controls.
  • The draw order is logged so you can verify completed answer sheets later.

Track teams across quiz nights

The League area shows standings and lets you open a team to inspect attendance and results over time.

  • Use it to see appearances, wins, podiums, and average finish.
  • Open individual teams to inspect historic quiz attendance and results.
  • Use the past quiz history to explain standings if teams question a table position.

Understand how weekly billing works

Billing is configured per pub. Each billed pub includes one weekly quiz, with extra weekly quizzes and picture rounds available as add-ons.

Quizzes per week

On the Subscription page, each pub has a Quizzes / Week dropdown. The first quiz is included; extra weekly quizzes are billed on top.

Picture rounds

Use the checkbox to include the picture round add-on for that pub.

Add another pub

Use Add Pub to bill additional venues and configure them separately.

Downgrades

If a pub has more active quiz nights than your reduced billing would allow, QuizBrew will ask you to remove or reduce those before downgrading.

Common issues and what to do next

No registration email arrived

Check spam first. If it still does not arrive, use the Support page and include the email address you registered with.

Quiz is still generating

Leave the quiz detail page open for a few moments. If it stays stuck or fails, open the quiz, note the pub and quiz title, and send that in a support ticket.

Question looks too similar

Use regenerate for the individual question. QuizBrew now guards against obvious near-duplicate rewrites for the same venue.

PDF layout looks off

Try another sheet template or re-download after changes. If text overlaps, include the PDF and template name in your ticket.

When you contact support: tell us the pub, quiz name, what page you were on, and what you expected to happen. That makes it much faster to fix.
